Day 5 - First Time Up the Chief for the Season

Today was the perfect day for my first trip up the Chief for the year.

This is one of the very few physical activities I have engaged in over the past few years.
Last year I managed to hike to first peak about once a week during the spring and summer.
The first hike of the year is never a fun one.
I don't remember it ever hurting as much as it did today, must be the soreness from the last few days of workouts.

We did not time ourselves as we spent as much time enjoying the scenery and snapping pics as we did hiking.
I spent much of my time whining and moaning to Alicia, a joy that cannot be experienced when hiking alone - it is fun having a partner.

The burn was good, I feel it the most in my inner thighs, kinda cool as that is one of the few areas Alicia has not yet murdered over the past few days.

Goals: to hike the chief once a week all summer
to (eventually) be able to hike base to first peak, to base to second peak, to base to third peak in one day
